The "chicken florentine" my hubby ordered was a dried up mess with one sprig of something green covered in Alfredo sauce. Maybe had we gotten pizza and not sat at the table by the wall (roaches running down it) this review would be different, but alas. We witnessed a couple at a nearby table leave in disgust after never being served more than drinks. I can't remember her name but she's a petite Hispanic lady with a braid lol. She's fantastic but the only one waiting tables no matter how busy it gets. But hopefully it will improve it, so here goes: Pros: the waitress. I deliberated all week about keeping my opinions to myself- after all, I'd hate to have a negative impact on a mom and pop business. In fact, I've gone to some dives, but this one took the cake. I can't believe the ratings this place has. They took my meal off the check and I hauled butt to the closest respectable restaraunt and had an actual conch chowder, gorgeous shrimp cocktail and a slice of key lime pie to wash all of the deception off of my palate.Convenient little shop across from the resort we stayed in last week. Sent back my food untouched and had to speak to the manager who, when confronted with my bowl of lies, clearly could not deny that they had tried to pass the calamari broth as conch chowder. "What kind of dressing you want?" Me, heavy pause, "Greek." Game over. Have you seen the Family Guy episode about pizzaria salad? Huge chunks of iceberg littered with peppercinis and olives. My conch chowder was leftover calamari, breading and all, in mystery broth they didn't even bother to throw a red in to throw me off. "I don't know." Okay, so at this point, I'm begging my daughter to please let us go to Island Grill but everyone was tired and hungry after a long day of kayaking so, I was forced to watch the terror unfold. Hubby asked what the stuffed chicken was stuffed with. I decided on a bowl of conch chowder (served and ordered by me everywhere in the Keys, btw) and a Greek salad as a safe meal. Is it red or white sauce? Dead stare, "Whichever." Blink, blink. Like, shrimp and calamari and stuff." Huh? Like the seafood pasta, I asked. I asked her what the Shrimp Key West dish was all about. First off, I think our waitress was on a mild sedative. We usually always opt for seafood but my young daughter really wanted pizza as our last Islamorada meal.
